Brrrrr...It's Cold Outside!
I don’t know about you but February is always the month that I find myself saying “and why do I live in Columbus, Ohio?” This is a big country we live in and many of those closest to me seem to live in a better, or at the very least, more temperate part of it! Katherine called to report on the glorious blue skies in southern California; Will called to say that they are playing outdoor soccer in Charleston, SC; and my parents find February to be perfect golfing weather in Houston, TX. You get what I’m saying I’m sure. Of course, February gives us many social occasions to kick up our heels…starting with a very early Mardi Gras which was celebrated on February 5th. Tony and I actually celebrated it on February 2nd. We had fun cooking up some of our Cajun and Creole favorites: Oysters Bienville, Crabmeat Avery, Shrimp Etouffee, and Crepes Suzette! Definitely NOT on Weight Watchers but they don’t call it “Fat Tuesday” for nothing!
Tony and I, along with the rest of the New Albany Company, had the chance to privately tour the almost complete McCoy Community Center For The Arts last week. Wow! It is world-class in every way. The theatre holds almost 800 people and there isn’t a bad seat in the house! I can’t wait for performances to begin. How great to live in a town that is so committed to the arts! So even though we won’t see leaves on the trees and warmer temperatures for a few months like other parts of the country, we now have a place to go in our own back yard where we will constantly be reminded of all things beautiful. See you at the show! Have a great month!
