Where Have All The Leaves Gone?
I’m not sure how it got to be October already – I was a little distracted by selling our home, moving into an apartment, and buying a new home over the summer and a little busy (no complaints here) with a robust real estate market in New Albany. But Fall is here as evidenced by the change in temperatures, Football Friday Nights, and falling leaves. It’s the leaves I’m most excited about – for the first time in 16 years, we won’t be hauling truckloads of leaves from our yard - a definite benefit to our move!
Spending the past 2 months in an apartment has been an interesting experience – most notably, we’ve realized how simple life CAN be – we have minimal “things” in our apartment and have been completely comfortable there. So comfortable in fact, that we wonder what in the world we need with the 10,000 pounds of stuff that is being stored until we move into our new home. The 2nd thing we’ve discovered is that making an interim move from our larger family home to an apartment is a great way to downsize…when we finally move into our patio home in January, it will feel extremely spacious – not like we’ve downsized at all! I highly recommend it!
In the midst of our crazy August, Tony had a “BIG” birthday! To celebrate, we are taking a Mediterranean Cruise – probably as you are reading this eNewsletter. We’ll see a little bit of Italy, France, and the Greek Isles! Absolutely cannot wait – I guess it’s worth having a milestone birthday in order to do this. I may actually figure out how to post a few photos on Facebook.
